Almaty Museum

The new museum is located at the former Vernensky orphanage constructed by famous architect Pavel Gurde, who played a significant role in the history of the city. The museum has more than 40,000 exhibits, divided into 11 epochs: “Ancient history of Almaty,” “Medieval history of Almaty,” “At the origins of Kazakh statehood,” “Ethnography of Zhetysu,” “Vernyi period in the history of Almaty,” “Almaty in the 20th century,” ” Development of culture and art,”  “History of mountaineering,”  “Zheltoksan” (December),” “Almaty and the leader of the nation,” and “Model of peace and harmony.”
